Logan (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates joinlogan.com and related services (collectively the “Platform”). We are committed to protecting your personal information and being transparent about how we collect, use, and share it. This Privacy Policy explains our data practices and your rights. By using the Platform you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree please do not use the Platform.

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Account information: name, email address, password
  • Personal and family information provided during intake: full legal name, date of birth, address, marital status, spouse or partner information
  • Trustee and beneficiary information: names, relationships, contact details, date of birth, share percentages
  • Asset information: property addresses, financial institution names, account types, estimated values, account last four digits
  • Healthcare preferences: healthcare agent designation, end of life preferences, organ donation preferences
  • Digital asset information: descriptions of digital accounts, wallets, and files — note fields are encrypted at rest
  • Payment information: processed by Stripe — Logan does not store full card numbers, expiration dates, or CVV codes
  • Communications: emails, support messages, and feedback you send to us

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent, referring URL, and device information
  • Cookies and similar technologies: session cookies for authentication, preference cookies for settings, analytics cookies for product improvement
  • Usage data: features used, documents generated, intake completion rates, dashboard interactions

2.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Stripe: payment confirmation and subscription status
  • Plaid (when connected): financial account names, balances, and institution names — Logan does not store Plaid credentials
  • SmartyStreets: address validation responses
  • Google OAuth (if used for signup): name and email address only

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Generate your estate planning documents from attorney-drafted templates
  • Process payments and manage your subscription
  • Deliver documents to your vault and send them via email
  • Provide your asset inventory and trust funding score
  • Send transactional emails: document delivery, annual review reminders, life event prompts, subscription receipts
  • Improve our product through aggregated and anonymized usage analysis
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Respond to support requests
  • Detect and prevent fraud and unauthorized access

We do not use your information to train AI models. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your information with advertisers.

Section 04

How We Share Your Information

4.1 Service Providers

We share information with trusted service providers who help us operate the Platform under strict confidentiality agreements:

  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Supabase — database hosting and authentication
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Plaid — financial account connectivity (when you choose to connect)
  • SmartyStreets — address validation
  • Sentry — error monitoring (anonymized error data only)
  • PostHog — product analytics (anonymized usage data only)

4.2 Attorney Review (Legacy Plan)

If you are a Legacy plan member your document package is shared with a licensed California estate planning attorney for review and certification. The reviewing attorney is bound by professional confidentiality obligations under California law and the California Rules of Professional Conduct.

4.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Logan, our users, or the public.

4.4 Business Transfers

If Logan is acquired, merged, or undergoes a change of control your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and a prominent notice on the Platform before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4.5 With Your Consent

We may share your information for other purposes with your explicit consent.

Section 05

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information:

  • All data is transmitted over HTTPS with TLS encryption
  • Passwords are hashed using bcrypt via Supabase Auth — we never store plain text passwords
  • Digital asset note fields are encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption
  • Document files are stored in Supabase Storage with row-level security policies — only authenticated users can access their own documents
  • Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe — Logan never sees or stores full card numbers
  • Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel only
  • We conduct regular security reviews and promptly address identified vulnerabilities

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Section 06

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Specifically:

  • Account and profile data: retained for the life of your account and deleted within 30 days of account deletion
  • Estate planning documents: retained in your vault for the life of your account and deleted within 30 days of account deletion — we recommend downloading copies before deleting your account
  • Payment records: retained for 7 years as required by financial recordkeeping regulations
  • Anonymized and aggregated analytics data: may be retained indefinitely as it cannot identify you
  • Backup data: retained for up to 90 days in automated backups after deletion from active systems

Section 07

Your Rights and Choices

7.1 Access

You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you by contacting us at Logantrustandwill@gmail.com.

7.2 Correction

You can update most of your personal information directly through your dashboard. For information you cannot update yourself contact us at Logantrustandwill@gmail.com.

7.3 Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and personal information through your dashboard settings or by contacting us at Logantrustandwill@gmail.com. Note that we may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes as described in Section 6.

7.4 Data Portability

You can download your estate planning documents from your vault at any time. For a copy of your raw data contact us at Logantrustandwill@gmail.com.

7.5 Opt Out of Marketing

You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or through your notification settings in the dashboard. You will continue to receive transactional emails necessary for your account and document delivery.

7.6 Cookie Preferences

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect Platform functionality.

7.7 California Residents — CCPA

If you are a California resident you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

  • The right to know what personal information we collect, use, share, and sell
  • The right to delete your personal information
  • The right to opt out of the sale of your personal information — Logan does not sell personal information
  • The right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

Cookies and Tracking

We use the following types of cookies and tracking technologies:

  • Strictly necessary cookies: required for authentication, session management, and security — cannot be disabled
  • Functional cookies: remember your preferences and settings
  • Analytics cookies: PostHog collects anonymized usage data to help us improve the product — no personally identifiable information is included in analytics data
  • We do not use advertising cookies or share data with advertising networks

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies, delete existing cookies, and set preferences for specific sites.

Section 09

Children's Privacy

Logan is not directed at children under the age of 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor please contact us at Logantrustandwill@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

Third Party Links

The Platform may contain links to third party websites and services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third party sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third party sites you visit.

Section 11

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will notify you by email and by posting a prominent notice on the Platform at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of the updated policy constitutes acceptance of the changes.
