Legal Disclosure
Important information about Logan and the documents we generate.
Section 01
Logan Is Not a Law Firm
Logan is a document preparation platform. Logan is not a law firm and does not practice law. Use of the Logan platform does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Logan or between you and any Logan employee or contractor.
The documents generated through the Logan platform are produced by populating attorney-drafted, state-specific templates with information you provide during the intake process. This service constitutes document preparation, not the practice of law.
Section 02
No Legal Advice
Nothing on the Logan platform, in any Logan communication, or in any document generated through the Logan platform constitutes legal advice. Logan does not advise you on:
- Whether a particular estate planning structure is appropriate for your situation
- How to structure your assets, beneficiary designations, or trust provisions to achieve a specific legal or tax outcome
- Whether any document generated through the platform will be legally effective or enforceable in your jurisdiction
- How applicable law affects your individual circumstances
For advice specific to your situation, your assets, your family, and your jurisdiction, consult a licensed estate planning attorney in your state.
Section 03
Document Preparation Service
Logan's service consists of:
- Providing a guided intake process through which you provide information about yourself, your family, your assets, and your wishes
- Populating attorney-drafted, state-specific templates with the information you provide
- Delivering completed documents to your secure vault and via email
- Providing plain-English instructions for executing, funding, and maintaining your estate plan
You make all decisions about the content of your documents. Logan transcribes your decisions into legal form. Logan does not exercise independent legal judgment in the preparation of your documents.
Section 04
Attorney-Drafted Templates
The templates used to generate Logan documents were drafted by licensed estate planning attorneys with experience in the relevant state jurisdictions. Template drafting is distinct from document preparation — the attorneys who drafted the templates did not review your specific documents and do not represent you.
Logan reviews its templates periodically to maintain compliance with applicable state law. However Logan does not warrant that templates are current as of the date of your document generation or that they will produce documents that are legally valid or enforceable in all circumstances.
Section 05
Legacy Plan — Attorney Review
Logan's Legacy plan includes review and certification of your generated documents by a licensed California estate planning attorney before delivery. This review service is provided by an independent licensed attorney, not by Logan.
The reviewing attorney:
- Confirms that your documents are complete and consistent
- Confirms that your documents comply with California statutory requirements for execution
- Signs and certifies your Certificate of Trust
- Does not provide personalized legal advice or ongoing legal representation
- Does not review your documents for tax planning purposes or advanced estate planning strategies
The attorney review included in the Legacy plan does not create an ongoing attorney-client relationship. For ongoing legal representation contact a licensed estate planning attorney directly.
Section 06
When You Should Consult an Attorney
Logan is designed for straightforward estate planning situations. We strongly recommend consulting a licensed estate planning attorney before executing any Logan-generated documents if any of the following apply to your situation:
- Your estate may be subject to federal or state estate taxes (generally estates over $13 million for federal as of 2026 — check current thresholds)
- You own a business or have complex business interests
- You have children from a prior relationship or a blended family
- You are going through or recently completed a divorce
- You own real property in multiple states
- You have a beneficiary with special needs who receives or may receive government benefits
- You have significant international assets or are not a US citizen or permanent resident
- You have recently experienced a major life change — marriage, divorce, death of a spouse or beneficiary
- You have concerns about a beneficiary's ability to manage an inheritance
- You want to establish an irrevocable trust, charitable trust, or other advanced planning structure
- You have been advised by a financial advisor, accountant, or other professional to consult an estate planning attorney
This list is not exhaustive. If you are uncertain whether your situation is straightforward we recommend consulting a licensed attorney.
Section 07
Unauthorized Practice of Law
The unauthorized practice of law (UPL) is prohibited in every US state. Logan's document preparation service is designed to comply with applicable law in every state where we operate. We do so by:
- Providing attorney-drafted templates rather than drafting legal language ourselves
- Allowing users to make all legal decisions — we transcribe, we do not advise
- Displaying prominent disclosures that we are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice
- Referring users to licensed attorneys for situations that require legal judgment
- Ensuring Legacy plan attorney review is performed by a licensed attorney operating independently
If you have concerns about whether Logan's services constitute the practice of law in your jurisdiction please consult a licensed attorney or contact your state bar association.
Section 08
